It has been reported that A-list Hollywood celebrities like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie spend as much as $2 million per year for personal security. Top-tier security officers can cost as much as $1,000 to $2,000 per day, and often multiple officers are needed to secure celebrity homes and nights out on the town. While this may seem like an obscene amount of money, it is worth considering that celebrities like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have to deal with stalkers, extortionists, kidnappers, and a number of other security threats that most of us simply don’t have to deal with.
However, while we might not have the same security threats as celebrities in Hollywood, there are still very real dangers that we must guard ourselves and our families from on a daily basis. Fortunately, there are security solutions that won’t set you back a few thousand dollars a day.
Over the past few weeks, Mijac Alarm has been actively discussing the benefits of MyForce with our customers. We believe that MyForce is the perfect complement to a Mijac Alarm system, and we want all of our customers to understand exactly how they can benefit from the service.
Many Mijac customers have been asking us for more details about MyForce, so we wanted to provide a simple guide on how it works and how to sign up.
How MyForce works
MyForce has created a smartphone application that is used to directly connect with the MyForce central monitoring station. When the app is activated, a transmission is sent to the central monitoring station that includes your current GPS location and real-time audio from your smartphone speaker. MyForce uses the audio from your smartphone to determine if you are in legitimate danger or if you have accidentally sent an alert. If it is determined that there is a legitimate threat, MyForce dispatches local law enforcement to your current GPS location.
MyForce works with 911 dispatchers, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, and universities across the United States so that they can provide the fastest response time to anyone in danger. The real-time audio from your smartphone makes it easier for MyForce to determine the difference between an accidental alert and a real emergency, which means fewer false alarms and more time for police to help those truly in danger.
How to use MyForce
MyForce has been designed to be incredibly simple to use. If you know how to operate a smartphone, you’ll find the MyForce app to be one of the simplest apps you’ve ever downloaded. The first step is to register for a MyForce account by clicking here. Once you have registered, search for “MyForce” on your smartphone’s app store and download the application. Open the app and enter the email address and phone number you used to create your account online. That’s it!
Once you’ve registered and installed the app, all you have to do to request assistance is open the app and tap the large alert button in the center of the screen. The MyForce app with automatically use your cellular data connection to send your GPS location and real-time audio to the central station, where appropriate action can be taken.
MyForce works anywhere in the United States with a cellular data connection, and they are partnering with an increasing number of universities, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies throughout Southern California and the rest of the country, so you can feel safe wherever you are. While MyForce might not be quite the same as having a large Hollywood bodyguard at your side 24/7, it is still a great solution for the rest of us living in the real world.
